Dr. Oskar Pietrewicz serves as a Senior Analyst of the Asia-Pacific Programme at the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM). His research interests include security issues in Northeast Asia, the foreign and security policies of North Korea, South Korea and Japan, and the foreign policies of the United States and China towards the Korean Peninsula. Dr. Pietrewicz has authored two books (“Dispute over Korea. The U.S., China, and International Security on the Korean Peninsula”, and “A Shrimp among Whales: The Korean Peninsula in the Policy of Powers”) and numerous expert analyses on these issues. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Warsaw, as well as a B.A. and M.A. in international relations from the same university. Dr. Pietrewicz has regularly commented on Korean Peninsula issues for both international and Polish media.
