Lt. Gen. Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart

Commander of the NATO Multinational Northeast Corps

Lieutenant General Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart (German Army), Commander Multinational Corps Northeast. He began his military service in 1982. Among many leadership positions, he commanded the 1st Armoured Division (Oldenburg, Germany), the 41st Armoured Mechanized Infantry Brigade (Torgelow, Germany) and the 93th Tank Demonstration Battalion (Munster, Germany). His military career includes an assignment at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe as Chief J7 and Deputy Chief of Staff as well as deployments to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Afghanistan. LTG von Sandrart has been awarded both German and NATO honours.
