Mr. Jan Marian was appointed the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in May 2023. He previously served as the Special Envoy for the Eastern Partnership, Acting Director of Communications Department, Strategic Communications Co-ordinator and Head of Unit at the Department of Northern and Eastern Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czechia. He was posted at the Czech Embassy in Moscow and as a COEST delegate (Eastern Europe and Central Asia) at the Permanent Representation of Czechia to the EU in Brussels. Before joining the MFA he worked as expert in Prague Security Studies Institute, Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung and People in Need.
